When I became a mother in 2014, I wasn’t quite prepared for all the emotional, physical, and spiritual storms on the horizon. I soon felt the need to find something positive to do with my time. Over the past six years I’ve been using my very limited free time to posting biblically and psychologically informed “self-help” content for moms. It’s been so clear to me that moms need to be encouraged and supported as much as possible.
Linked below you’ll see a video I posted back in 2018 on the topic of anxiety. Anxiety is a huge mental health epidemic in the world today. Many women develop fears, worries, and full-blown anxiety upon becoming a mother. The sleepless nights, hormone changes, and immense life-change are all pretty difficult to navigate all alone.
I truly pray you find the information in the video helpful! I’m so glad to share that I’ve continued to use my free time to studying, writing, creating, and serving women all around the world! I am now also offering many free support groups for moms throughout the year, so if you’d like to learn more about my current February-March group, visit calm.melirentas.com
I’m thankful for the storms of life as I’ve seen how God has truly worked each one out for good. I’ve learned some amazing and hard lessons, and if you’re a part of my support groups you’re sure to hear all about them from time to time. We can’t be afraid to turn our mess into a message! That is how we love and encourage each other with humility and grace.
As a side note, in the video I recommended Yoga and Tai Chi for promoting relaxation and exercise, however, I failed to mention that it is important to be careful with some of these practices in light of their religious foundation, which is contradictory to the Christian worldview. With that, I would suggest looking for basic stretching and breathing exercises on YouTube or consider trying “Piyo”, a pilates and yoga hybrid created by Chalene Johnson. I have done these workouts myself and found them to be free of any religious teaching.
I hope you find this video useful! Please let me know what you would like to see from me in an upcoming blog or vlog (video blog).
XOXO
Meli
PS. Don’t forget that I’m currently leading a free stress relief group from February – March 2021. If you’d like more information, click here: calm.melirentas.com
